Facials

A professional facial uses a combination of therapeutic components for revitalizing your skin, including deep cleansing, to rid the skin of any buildup of oil, dirt and bacteria. Exfoliation to gently remove any cellular debris. Masking to nourish and hydrate the skin, along with massage to promote microcirculation and oxygenate the skin encouraging cell renewal.

iS Clinicals Fire & Ice Facial is suitable for all skin types and can be carried out the day before an event. The treatment takes approx. 45 mins and has no downtime. Some mild tingling may be experienced during the heat phase.

Peels

Peels are advanced chemical exfoliating treatments that lift the surface layer or layers of cells. Peels can be applied to the face, neck, dec, hands and upper back creating a brighter rejuvenated appearance. Some bring lasting changes to the skin while others allow better absorption of active skincare products.

Is the treatment painful?

A tingling and/or burning sensation is expected to be felt during the application of the peel which can last from about 3-7 minutes. Some patients (depending on pain tolerance) can describe this as quite intense.

How long does a treatment take?

This treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

Are there any side effects or risks associated with this treatment?

Most side effects experienced with a chemical peel will usually subside within 24-48 hours, these include: tingling/burning, warmth, tightness, swollen feel, itchiness & redness. Side effects that can last longer than 24-48 hours include: peeling for up to 5-7 days & mild to moderate discomfort for up to 3 days.

How many treatments are needed?

It is recommended to do about 6-8 treatments (minimum 4 treatments). Your clinician will let you know how many treatments are recommended depending on your individual concerns.

Peels are not recommended for clients who:

  • Are allergic to aspirin and other salicylates.
  • Have had surgery or cryosurgery within the last 6 weeks to the treated area.
  • Have herpes simplex (cold sores).
  • Have had a prior reaction to chemical peels or microdermabrasion.
  • Have had recent radiation treatment for cancer.
  • Are sunburnt or have had significant sun exposure two days prior to treatment.
  • Have used Accutane within the past 6 months.
