POST PROCEDURE HEALING INFORMATION
The treated area will be red and mildly uncomfortable. You may feel and look like you have sunburn and experience some stinging, itching, and tightness of the skin. This usually subsides within 24-48 hours.
The day post-treatment, you will be able to apply make-up as usual. Your skin will appear slightly pink. Some people have mild peeling of sloughed dead skin 3-4 days after the treatment.
AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
There are a few simple steps for after care that you will need to follow:
Avoid the use of products containing active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, perfumes and colours.
- Use a non-active moisturiser for 3-7 days or until your skin is no longer sensitive. Thereafter, continue with your usual moisturisers unless advised otherwise.
- Keep sun exposure to a minimum as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. Wear a hat and sunscreen daily
- Use mineral makeup if required, but not on the day the day of the Dermapen treatment.
- Do not rub or pick the skin as this may lead to scarring
No exercise (with sweating), not swimming (chemical exposure) for 24 hours.
If for any reason you are concerned about the possibility of a serious adverse reaction, or experience any of the following symptoms:
Increased (rather than decreasing) facial swelling after the first 24-36 hours, redness spreading beyond the area of treatment that is warm and tender to touch or any excessive pain, please contact us immediately.
