Before the Treatment
Am I a good candidate for this treatment? / Will this treatment work for me?
The best candidate is someone who generally has good facial skin but is showing early signs of aging, sagging, and a loss of elasticity and muscle tone in the face and/or chin and jawline. Anyone who is looking for less wrinkles and more lift may also be a candidate for EMFACE.
For safety reasons, you may not be able to get this treatment if you have/are:
- Active inflammation and/or infection in the treatment area
- Current or history of cancer
- Acute or degenerative neurologic disease or disorders, or any other disease around the treatment area that’s triggered by heat (e.g., herpes)
- An internal defibrillator/pacemaker
- Metal implants (excluding dental) in the treatment area.
- Pacemaker or internal defibrillator, or any other active electrical implant anywhere in the body
- Active collagen diseases
- Cardiovascular diseases (such as vascular diseases, peripheral arterial disease, thrombophlebitis and thrombosis)
- History of bleeding coagulopathies, use of anticoagulants
- Varicose veins
- Pregnant or are undergoing an IVF procedure.
- Skin-related autoimmune diseases
- Silicone implants and/or injections in the area
Can I do it during my lunch break?
Absolutely. Appointments are just 30 mins long and the treatment itself takes about 20 mins.
How many sessions will I need to see results?
For best results, most patients receive 4 treatments per application area. A maximum of 2 areas can be treated at once. The exact number will depend on each individual person and the area being treated.
How often/far apart should the treatments be?
For best results, treatments are scheduled 5-10 days apart.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for the treatment?
You will be asked to remove all metallic accessories and electronic devices, and the treated area will be cleansed before the procedure to remove any moisture, perfume, moisturizers, or oils.
During the Treatment
What does the treatment feel like?
Treatments are non-invasive and comfortable. You will lay down and relax while the EMFACE applicators are applied over the treatment areas for 20 minutes. During the treatment you will feel muscle contractions along with a heating sensation which is comparable to hot stone massage.
After the Treatment
How long will the results last and are they permanent?
You begin to feel tangible results right after the treatments. Optimal results are usually reported in 90 days after the last session and continue to improve for several weeks following the treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Absolutely no downtime. You can return to your daily schedule immediately after your treatment.
Do I need to do anything after my treatment?
No, you do not need to do anything after your treatment, however, it is recommended to follow a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, and stay well hydrated for best results.
If I got a treatment on my face, can I put makeup up on right after?
Yes, you can apply makeup immediately after your treatment.
