Are our faces perfectly symmetrical?
The answer is: “No!”
Did you know that there are standard ratios that make us appear more attractive and that aesthetic practitioners use these to determine how to proportion and beautify a face? So, while we are not trying to make you perfect, we are moving in the direction of beautiful ratios.
This ‘golden ratio’ is called ‘phi’, and its proportion is 1: 1.618.
For example, the measurement from below the nose to the middle of the lips compared to the measurement from the middle of the lips to the base of the chin is equal to phi! Ethnicity and gender can also play a role in these measurements…
