PRP is a concentrated source of autologous platelets, which contains numerous growth factors that are harvested from your own blood in the clinic, and then reintroduced into your skin, thereby causing collagen synthesis and skin rejuvenation. The technology is at the cutting-edge of Cosmetic Medicine and is gaining in both popularity and efficacy throughout the world; especially after obtaining global media attention thanks to Kim Kardashian and the ‘Vampire Facial’ nickname!

We are leaders in PRP in New Zealand and offer 3 types of Platelet Rich Plasma treatment depending on the individual patient and the anticipated result. Each PRP treatment requires a slightly different process and this will be discussed with your during your consultation. Essentially, once you have been identified as a suitable candidate to receive this incredible treatment, a small sample of blood will be taken from you during the treatment. This sample then undergoes a processing stage (different for each type of PRP treatment) where the precious growth factors are isolated and extracted. The growth factor rich serum is then re-introduced to the treatment area either by superficial injection by a doctor or using the Dermapen™. Because Platelet Rich Plasma is taken from your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction. Minor swelling, bruising and redness may be present for 12-48 hours after treatment.

The number of treatments required and anticipated results will be discussed with you during the consultation.
