Renowned Makeup Artist Grayson Coutts gives a review of Led Light Therapy at Clinic 42
LED Light Facials have been gaining popularity for their risk-free way to successfully rejuvenate the skin, repair sun damage and treat acne scarring and rosacea. I stopped by Clinic 42 this week for my second Derma Pen treatment (you can read about the Derma Pen treatment here) and followed it up with an LED Light Facial. I spoke to Laura at Clinic 42 about Light Facials and how they can help improve your skin.
What is it?
There are two types of Light treatments: Red LED and Blue light. If you have rosacea, psoriasis, large pores, sun damage, or skin blemishes then Red LED is the one to go for. Blue light has anti inflammatory properties and can kill harmful bacteria, making it ideal for serious cases of acne. Blue light is also amazing for treating Seasonal Affective Disorder (or winter blues). So how does it work? Red LED produces the same light frequencies as lasers but without the intense heat and tissue damage. It’s a diffused light that actually penetrates deeper than laser light and can be applied over a larger section of skin at a time.
How does it compare with other treatments?
We all know about lasers for anti-aging and skin resurfacing. But there can be harmful side effects and downtime caused by the heat of the laser.
LED Light therapy istotally safe, pain free and I found my treatment very relaxing. Because it’s not invasive there’s no recovery period to consider and it only takes about 20 minutes, so you can schedule them at any time.
Will it work?
A lot of people find results are immediate. Fine lines, redness and open pores are reduced and skin feels smoother and firmer. The great thing about LED is that it uses the body’s own natural process to rejuvenate your skin. It’s a great follow up to a Derma Pen treatment (or any other treatment) because it encourages the skin to repair itself. The clinical results have been excellent and there have been no reported problems.
